I think I've recently discovered a few of my gashapon are actually bootlegs. Can people who know they have real ones tell me if there are copyright markings on them, and where they are? I have the kneeling Eternal Sailormoon with wings, the Rei in a bathing suit, and the Usagi in a bathing suit.

I probably won't be able to buy much of anything for the next few months since I still have to pay back the $200-some-odd I spent at Animazement. *hides*

Tons of Sailormoon Stuff and BOB

All right, so I'm at Animazement. First things first: there's a dealer here that is selling THE MOST COOLEST Sailormoon stuff. EVA.

I got an Eternal Tier. In the box. It's BEAUTIFUL. And I got a box set of four Sailormoon World dolls of Saturn, Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune. I also bought a Uranus and Neptune gashapon. They are mad cute. :3

Clearly I have spent enough money for the weekend. lol

Okay so the other thing: Bob Betts is here. The creepy, 60-something year old man that runs a certain Sailormoon web site that I don't like. I don't like him or trust him because of things he has said in the past and how rude he has been to me. And he's HERE at the con, walking around with two bunnies in a baby stroller. CREEP. E.

Okay that's all. I'm totally GEEKING OUT. The guy with all the Sailormoon stuff has all three Japanese Starlight dolls in the boxes for $190 for the set. He also has an out of box Spiral Moon Rod that I was going to buy until I saw the Tier. He had VesVes, JunJun, and PallaPalla dolls. Lilly bought JunJun and PallaPalla. Jealous. Those were like $90 ea. And then he also has the Sailormoon change doll and the Chibimoon one, as well as some of the large Excellent Figures and ALL FOUR of the Amazon Quartet Plushies. Oh yah, I'm like splooging all over this poor man. I had to walk away. I was practically in tears xD

Animazement & Stuff

Well, my artbook isn't here yet. I know, I know. It's been almost a month, but I did pay the absolute cheapest shipping for it. The seller said it would take about three weeks. It will be four on Sunday. But I'm an optimist! Maybe it will come today! ^_^;

As long as it comes.... someday. T_T

I finished two plushies recently: Sailor Saturn and Sailor Pluto. I am bringing them with me to Animazement next weekend and putting them in the Art Show. I am thinking about starting them at $25. I think both would sell for at least that, and hopefully people will bid them up a little more. If I get $50 out of it, that at least pays for the con registration.

I hope they let me display my cards along side them.

I'm bringing my new costume (Sailor Xiao) as well as at least one form of Astera, Esmeraude (if I can remake her jewlery), and hopefully I will have Phobos done too. I'm REALLY excited.

Not much on the eBay front since I don't have any commission money coming in. I did just recently get all three movies on DVD from Mika, so that is something I can check off my "to do" list. I had them on VHS, but like Steve said, "VHS is like not even a thing."

Ha.

I was watching a Materials Collection with sad eyes. I also saw some cute dolls and a Lunaita L that I do eventually want. *sigh*

I also put a bid on this one, but that auction has like 8 days left so I am sure someone will out bid me. At least, I hope they do! :O All though having two sure is better than having none :)

I've been staying off eBay because I haven't been taking commissions for a while and I don't have the money to blow. However, someone recently gave me some Sailormoon stuff in exchange for art so I was able to sell that stuff to buy the book. The other item I've been watching for months is the Chibimoon Petite which I still plan to buy...eventually, when I can commit to the $10. u_u

I have to take a new photo of the collection because I've gotten a few things since the last photo. I'm having trouble because that room is an absolute disaster right now as it's doubling as an art studio. I have a fine art show in June so once that's up I can start taking commissions again and buying more stuff.

I think I am going to start focusing on the wands and toys now. I'd like to save up and get some of the really high end priced items. It's always good to have a goal because then you can focus on saving up for that special item. So, starting in June, my target items will be:

Materials Collection - It's poped up TWICE since I've been broke, gosh that makes me mad.
A Sailor Jupiter plushie - any really, since I don't have any of her.
Star Henshin Wand - because yes, it's pricy
Crystal Star Locket - Since I've always really wanted it, but it comes up so rarely I'm not optimistic
Disguise Pen - Because I think it's one of the coolest toys

Is it horrible of me to think things like, "I'm glad there is a recession because the Sailormoon toys are cheaper and more people are willing to sell them"? I feel like an opportunist. But really I'm just an obsessive freak :D

Incidentally, if anyone has the PGSM Jupiter purse: I want it real bad. D:<

The Eye of the Storm

Since I haven't been taking commissions really, I haven't had any money to buy stuff. So, I've been staying away from places like eBay which temp me with their shiny.

Holly from Moon Collection told me about SeraSell on Live Journal, but I'm so inept at using LJ I fear it might not be that useful to me. But once I have money again, I am sure I will try it out.

I am trying to save up $68 to buy a ton of felt with Pure. Also, I owe DracheaRannak on DA $45 for a commission I'm on a waitlist for. I just cannot resist his sailor art, it's too beautiful. *_* I also still owe my savings account $60. >_> So basically, fail.

Anyway, I've been randomly sad for a few days and I don't want to think it's a Sailor Moon stuff withdrawl because that would mean that I am INSANE, but when DavisJes sent me a Sailor Mercury keychain for my birthday on the 17th I pretty much spazzed.

The reason I've stopped taking commissions is because I need to make artwork for my show in June at Truffles in Milford, MA. I have a solo show there in June. The opening is June 7th from 2-4PM so I have a lot of work to do. It's been great to get back to making 'fine art' but my HOBBIES ARE SUFFERING! >:O

Anyway, I'm not going to look on eBay for all the shiny stuff I can't get right now.

I just wish I could get that last artbook sooner rather than later so I can have some closure.

So it came today, my Sailormoon Artbook Vol I from japan-ssdyuk. Even though the listing says $59, I only paid $47.99. Too much for an artbook? Yeah, probably a little, but that doesn't matter much to me. I just want the SHINY! *_* (Incidentally, if you are in the market, it seems they have another one for only $41.99, as well as Volume II for $39.99)

I must admit, I was worried it could be a bootleg. This person has listed artbooks before and been unwilling to provide additional images of the books. As a matter of fact, I have contacted them in the past to ask for pictures of the semi-transparent page in the front to be told they are "too busy for my demands." Well that just shouted scam to me.

But this time when they listed it, they included a shot of the semi-transparent page. When I went to buy this particular book, I actually found they had blocked me from their auctions! :O I contacted them to ask why and they passed it off as a mistake of some sort. Whatever, you blocked me because I was asking too many questions. Well SORRY if I want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off! >,<

Not sure why they seem to think that Volume IV is worth $104, or why Volume III is listed for $209?! (Seriously, that's a Vol V price, maybe...)

But anyway, I have now replaced three out of four of the bootlegs and only Vol III is left. I hope I can get it soon and end this nightmare of bootleg artbooks! :D I am giving away the bootleg copies for free. You can read more about it on my deviantART journal page. Raffle is on Feb 17th (my birthday!).

I don't have any money for toys right now because 1) I stopped taking drawing commissions to focus on art for my show in June and 2) what money I am getting for plushies now is all going to Animazement in May. So that's essentially killed my eBaying. But that doesn't stop me from watching shiny things.

Star Transformation Wand - Want it, but not for $300. I would pay $150 for this and if I had the money I'd make the offer. But I don't! It's just not my time~~~

Buyer Beware: Scathing Seller!

For any one of my friends who also collects SM items: please beware of a seller on craiglist who is offering some rare Sailor Moon items including a S star wand. I can't seem to find the craigslist page right now, but the email address of the seller is Rich Roth and the email address he used is rgr72344@gmail.com. He claims to be selling the items for his daughter.

This individual is intensely rude and absolutely terrible to communicate with. When I contacted him about prices for the items, he asked me to make an offer. When I made an offer he flipped out at me, screaming in caps lock and insulting me because my offer was too low. Clearly, asking me to make an offer means you are willing to negotiate. Flipping out and screaming at me is one way to lose business.

So buyer beware, this person is trying to scam people out of money and has absolutely no sense of business skill. Seller claims to be 62 years old but told me to "go f*** myself." (without the stars, and in caps)

They wanted $650 or more for a Star Transformation Wand MIB. Seriously. It is not worth that.

Just a fair warning in case you happen to come across this person. It's really a shame since they have some great items to sell. ^_^;

New Stuff and More eBay

I bought a boxload of stuff from a nice girl named Holly on Facebook. She sold me a set of five Irwin light up dolls, you know the ones with the ugly faces and gold trimmed skirts? I love the outfits and they fact that they light up, even if Irwin's early dolls had really ugly faces. I will get pics of them tomorrow hopefully.

I also go the entire Japanese manga from her, which is basically amazing since I never thought I'd be able to get it all at once, especially for such an amazingly almost obscene low price of $75. (all though, of course today I see it on eBay for $60, BUT WITH $40 SHIPPING WTF?! I guess I win.) I asked her repeatedly if she was *sure* since I know she could probably have gotten a lot more for it in a bidding war.

I also got some gashapon from her that need to be cleaned up. One of them has a bit of a broken leg that needs to be glued back on, and I also have a Chibi Moon doll duplicate now. I have a few other things I will be putting up on eBay soon.

A friend of mine who works at a library gave me a few copies of Newtype magazine from 2002 in Japanese that she had lying around and GUESS WHAT?! There was totally a centerfold Sailor Moon poster! I geeked out.

I am still waiting for some items to come from my friend for an art trade we did a while back, and I also am still waiting for my English manga to be returned to me. Patience is a virtue. I don't have it! :D

I probably won't be buying too much anytime soon since I really need to save up for Animazement. I am going to get some English dubbed DVDs of the first season for my 6-year-old sister so she can watch them. She recently spent a night at my house where I dressed her up in my Sailor Astera costume and she created her own otaku senshi, Star Sailor Moon. She actually refers to BSSM as "Star Sailor Moon" though I am not sure why. ^_^;

As I'm typing how I'm not going to spend any money on SM stuff, I find the Vinyl Sailor Star Maker doll that I am missing. T_T Nyah, I bought it. ^^;

Online Collection & Bootleg!

Collection is now online on DA. Everything is in a scrap gallery with the exception of my DevID which is my shelves. I totally do NOT have enough stuff. :P Everything is sorted by category, more or less. I will be adding stuff as I buy it! I also started a wish list which really is a WISH list since I will never own all that stuff. T_T

I found another Infinity Vol on eBay but I am pretty sure its a bootleg. There's only three hours left and it's only just over $100. There's not a photo of the semi transparent page AND the writing on the front doesn't seem to be metallic. No bid from me. Like Lori said, if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is. I feel bad for whoever spends that much money on a bootleg though...

This cute bag, because its cute :3 This awesome Jupiter plushie because I don't have any of her; as well as this one because wow, in a box. This killer Bandai Jupiter doll, which I really want but it will probably go up too high. This really cute Jupiter Sailormoon World doll which I would buy right now if I had the money. This Sailor Uranus plush, because the SAME one was $40 at Otakon and it was BROKEN so I think this is pretty friggin' sweet IN the box.

If I had the money I'd buy all of that. Unfortunately, I am waiting for a few people to pay me for commissions and no one's getting new ones so I'm SOoL. :P

I just spent like $120 in Sailor Moon toys. ^_^; I finally got my grubby little paws on a Sailor Luna doll, this one. Mine has a box! YEY! Now I feel fulfilled! Much thanks to Lily who helped me with bidding while I was traveling! :3

I also bought another 1000 Edition poster. Now that I know what they are, I'm kind of determined to get more of them. They are really pretty. Once this one arrives, I will have three framed ones for my office. I am watching another on eBay.

I also bought a Chibimoon wand and brooch. I have a broken Chibimoon wand that I bought at a dollar store because I felt bad for it. :P I keep saying I am going to restore it sometime, but I most likely won't get around to it.

Other stuff I'm watching on eBay but can't afford because I just spent all my money:
This Black Lady doll - it's not my favorite style, but I don't have any villain dolls and she's in her box.
This Sailor Uranus plushie - is a bit expensive, but it's something I've only seen once before and this one even has a box. It's probably worth the asking price, though I'd make a lower best offer for it. I'd love to have some outer plushies!

This Hobby Craves More Time

I really wish there were more hours in the day. Seriously, there's so much stuff I want to do and I feel like there's just not enough time in which to do it all! Mainly, it just kills me that I only have Sunday's off from work. Even though I only work a half day on Saturday, it seems to kill my free time. I'm really hoping this new job prospect pans out and I can have a normal weekend again.

I just posted the revised third chapter of my story, The Forgotten Truth. Man, I've been revising that story for YEARS now. I really should commit to at least a chapter a month.

I am watching a really cute Luna doll on eBay right now. Also thinking about buying a Petite Sailor Jupiter. I saw another copy of the Material's Collection today too. It's bad timing for me again since I spent all my money last month on ConnectiCon and Otakon (both were worth it). I am totally thrilled that my Esmeraude costume won Honorable Mention in the Novice category on Saturday though. That totally motivates me to make more costumes! I am still not sure which 2009 con I will be attending. Steve and I have agreed to one con a year since they are money sucking holes of doom. I have heard rumors that they are trying to get Naoko for Animazement so I might hold out for that.

I've been noticing some new traffic coming to my message boards which is really nice. It's great to have some people that are fresh to the community.

Dolls + Cosplay Updates

So, it's been a while. Sorry about that - I forget sometimes that I have this thing :3

Steve (my husband) is working on a new snazzy layout for SSC! *claps* I hope it can go up soon! It will include this blog as a main page update thing that's also available as an RSS feed. So that's sweet.

I recently bought 5 new SM dolls from Kashy on the Tower. All four of the outers with accessories plus Chibi Moon. I'm THRILLED. I never thought I'd get a hold of a nice Saturn doll, but this one is just beautiful. <3 I set them up on the top shelf of the display, but the whole thing looks really cluttered. I am going to have to talk Steve into getting me some more IKEA shelves.

ConnetiCon is next weekend! I'm going down for a day (maybe two) to see Lori (OMG YEY) with my friend Lisa from work. I will bring a costume, probably Dark Astera. I really hope Syrin comes soon... there's a few things I'm sure I will have to tweak before Otakon the second weekend of August. I REALLY wanted to find a pretty tiara for her, but nothing I found really sang to me. T__T Oh well, Syrin doesn't HAVE a tiara anyway, so I don't really need one. I just worry that without the bows and without the tiara, people won't know I'm a Sailor Senshi ^^;

Her wheels are coming along okay. I just suffered a minor set back this weekend when I chopped into my finger with a serrated knife. ^_^;

Mum (my mother in law) and I have been working on a dress for the last week on my new sewing machine. It's soooo tight and sexy and short, and I LOVE it. I can't wait to try it on! We have to do the armpit and bottom hem and put in the zipper and it will be done. I am planning on cosplaying Esmeraude (Emerald) with it, though I won't have pointy boots. I am going to try to make her crazy necklace though! And some Evil Black Crystal earrings of course :3 I bought a green wig on eBay; not as long as it should be really but it should be fun anyway. It will be nice to cosplay a character people actually know at least ;P

The Infinity Volume was up on eBay for a BIN of $495. I wanted it so bad.

JDrama and Musing

A thread popped up on the Tower that linked to a Japanaese Drama show that's being posted on YouTube called "Last Friends." I watched the first episode last night and I really like it! It has a lot of Sailor Moon subtle refrences and the acting is good. So far, the characters are a lot of fun. I highly suggest you check out the first episode. :3

Sometimes I wonder about where my Sailor Moon obsession would stand if it weren't for the internet. I am pretty sure I would've made Sailor Astera (or some kind of otaku senshi) if I hadn't found sites like Sailor Orion's Refuge, but I highly doubt I would've written two full fics for her, or continued to develop more senshi. Not to mention the growing collection. Without eBay where would I be?! XD

Sometimes I think about my 'internet' friends and get all mushy inside. I've gotten really close to a few people over the years, and even the ones that aren't in the fandom anymore are still really special to me.

Sailor Moon has had a really positive influence in my life. It might sounds kind of silly really, but there's a doctrine of how I basically want to live built into the Sailor Moon story: try your best, love your friends, believe in yourself and everyone around you, take every opportunity to wear a miniskirt. :P

I really need to start that Sailor Moon religion I've been planning. >_>

Fanfiction I've actually read

Yesterday I stated reading Suki's Sailor Moon X. It's really just started, only two chapters and just a few new characters so far but I'm absolutely in LOVE with her writing and I can't wait to read more. :3

There aren't too many fics I have read all the way through. I've started on Shuu's Eternal Darkness story, and I read all the way through Lei's Sacrifice Through Time, but not all at once so I think I really need to re-read the whole thing more closely.

I remember a long time ago, I was reading a fic about Sailor Dark Angel. She had a black outfit and a long red braid. I remember really liking it, but I don't think I ever finished it.

Other than Suki's fic, I am also watching two other stories on FF.net. Born On A Blue Moon is a Silver Millennium Moon Kingdom story that has some PGSM themes and wonderful characterization. I'm not all caught up on that story, but what I've read I have enjoied. I've also been following BSSM: Hidden Destiny but I haven't read the newer stuff.

On The Oracle's Message Boards user michael has been posting a really neat fic about Naru and an AU universe where she is a Sailor Senshi, but not in the ways I've seen it done before. I only read up through about chapter six and there's a lot more now that I haven't gotten to yet. The story can be found here; I was having a great time with it. :D

Has anyone read any fanfics that are complete or nearly complete that they just thought were AWESOME? I'd love to know about them :3

It's a fan comic, rehashed version of Sailor Moon with a similar plot line (so far) but with new takes on the characters and over all feel. It's pretty interesting and I've been finding it quite enjoyable. I love the new Luna and I think Mask is a pretty cool guy so far. I'm not a huge fan of the costume designs since we all know how much I love miniskirts ;P But I think the less girly take on the story is fun so far. Check it out if you haven't yet.

There's a lot of Sailor Moon things I'd like to own. Here are some of the things I am particularly wanting right now:

- Sailor Star Healer doll
- PGSM Jupiter Purse
- PGSM 6" Sailor Luna doll
- Chibiusa's Moon Wand
- Any dolls of the outer senshi

At present, I am $93.56 in "Sailor Moon debt." This is the amount of money I have to make back in commissions before I can spend any more money on toys. However, there are three other things delaying further purchases. One: I promised not to buy any more SM things until July 4. Two: we are moving soon and buying things now would be somewhat silly. And finally, three: I'm going to be pretty busy catching up with all the commissions for Glory. And that's way more worth it. :D

Infinity Artbook on eBay

Well, there it is - Naoko's self published Doujinshi collection is up on eBay starting at $499.99. The Infinity Artbook is a very rare Sailor Moon item and it doesn't come around much. Personally, I have an eBay alert set up to look for it. :3 At this time, I'm not capable of dropping half a grand on a book - HOWEVER, if I did, it certainly wouldn't be for one with a ripped dust cover thankyouverymuch. I am still hoping that I can save up some pennies before Otakon in August and find it there.

Am I totally insane because I want to spend that much money on a book? I keep telling people, the book is more valuable to me than the money. :D Obsessive? Maybe.
